The basic formula for calculating skill points in both Dragon Age: Inquisition and Borderlands 2 is Level × 2. However, there are some game-specific variations.

Dragon Age: Inquisition: Skill points are used to unlock abilities in various skill trees (Warrior, Rogue, Mage). Points are awarded at level up and through specific in-game actions.
