Every calculator on this site gives an estimate from a standard formula and the numbers you enter. Results are for planning, learning and checking your own work.

• A result is only as good as its inputs and the formula’s assumptions. Real lawns, soils, products, weather and equipment vary.
• Material counts are not structural design. Retaining walls, decks, fences on slopes and anything that holds back soil or carries people need a qualified designer where the maker’s instructions or local rules say so, and may need a permit.
• Follow the label for fertilizer, seed, stain and any other product. A calculator turns a rate into an amount; it does not choose the rate.
• Tech how-to steps are general and can differ by device, version and settings. Back up your data before changing system settings, and use the maker’s support for account, security or warranty questions.
