This converter turns a number of minutes into hours and minutes, decimal hours and seconds. Enter the minutes; the headline shows the time as h:mm:ss, followed by decimal hours (for timesheets) and seconds.

Formula

Decimal hours = minutes ÷ 60. Seconds = minutes × 60. For hours and minutes, the whole hours are the minutes divided by 60 rounded down, and the remaining minutes are what is left over.

150 minutes.

1. Hours and minutes: 150 = 2 × 60 + 30, so 2:30:00
2. Decimal hours = 150 ÷ 60 = 2.5000 h
3. Seconds = 150 × 60 = 9,000 s

How to use the result

Timesheets and pay often need decimal hours (2.5 h), while clocks show hours and minutes (2:30). They are not the same number: 2.30 h would be 2 hours 18 minutes.

• Do not read decimal hours as minutes: 0.75 h is 45 minutes, not 75.
• Large values roll into more hours, not days.
